If I were you and plan on buying a home I would talk to your mortgage lender and ask them what would be best to do with collection.

I'm your neighbor in Texas and I'm thankful that our SOL is 4 years and only garnishments are Federal and Child Support.  Keep us posted on what you find out cause I remember years ago getting calls like that which turned out to be scammers.

 The law of 10 years is crazy, unfortunately some people have bad things happen and can't pay their bill but to punish them for 10 years is so unfair.
