Hi,
Ok, so I had a collection account with Afni from verizon for $149. I tried for so long and in some ways to get them to agree to a PFD. But it didn't happen. So I ended up just paying it. I will still try to get them to delete it. But I'm worried it might hurt my credit score. The account is from 2008. If you have any experience with this or any other collection agency please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
I had a balance with AFNI that had been paid in 2010, but was still hurting my score. I ended up disputing it with the CBR and not even 2 weeks later it was removed.
Good Luck! :-) I have heard from some that they are not the nicest. LOL

A paid collection hurts your score just the same as an unpaid collection..
if it was already showing, the damage is done, it will not hurt more by paying it.
You need to GW them to try to have it removed.

+1 The blemish is still there, although the debt has been satisfied. Send a GW to them, see if you can get lucky.
Thanks for all your replies. I will keep on trying!!
I had no success with PFD with AFNI so I just paid it. About a week or 2 later I got a letter stating it would be removed ..and sure enough the month cycled and it was off. I have read here over many months the same results
