@xaiduz114: I know...EQ is too much to deal with but I've come this far...thanks again for all of your advice. I filed my dispute to have the date updated/and the CA removed. I found my credit reports and its clear as day.

UPDATE: Equifax deleted the collection! I filed a disputed citing the DoFD discrepancy and they promptly deleted the baddie. They emailed me confirmation that it's been deleted. Whewwwww! Thank goodness they didn't drag it out. Thanks, MyFico!!! I couldn't have done it without you.
I can't wait to see the score increase. I haven't updated my scores in quite some time. The account was reporting a $10K balance from 2007. It was nowhere near $10K in 2007.
