Re: Direct dispute, BBB or CFPB?

Then you appear to have am ideal case for involving the CFPB.

The CFPB has authority for administrative enforcement of the FCRA.

If you have a clear showing that they are not complying with a provision or requirment, as opposed to a situation where you have a disagreement with the creditor, then you should file a formal complaint with the CFPB.

In your situation, if the admit that their reporting is accurate, then FCRA 623(a)(2) requires that they initiate correction.

It is simply silly for them ot require you to assert an error by filing a dispute, have the dispute referred to them by the CRA for their investigation, and they then be forced to correct.  A lot of wasted work for all.

They are in direct and admitted violation of FCRA 623(a)(2).  File a comlaint with the CFPB.
