Good question, I'd like to know the answer to this one too.  

I have a couple of active disputes and at the same time a new TL reported....well it dropped my score several points.  I'm in the same boat.

Now once the dispute is resolved and in my favor (fingers crossed).....I hope my score goes back up.  That still doesn't explain why the score drops....unless that TL that one is 

disputing on was taken out of the equation of the FICO score????

Yep, it can. Depending on what was disputed, it either eliminates the TL, parts of the TL, but never removes CA factors. Updating on this disputed item sounds like the culprit.
