Does the same timeline of 30 days apply to disputes with original creditors if the dispute is initiated by phone?
I called and spoke with Capital One's disputes department, and was told the matter would be researched, and someone would call me back within 48 hours. It has now been almost a month and the call has yet to be returned.
Can a request for removal now be requested based on the lack of response?
There's probably not much you can do since you don't have any proof that you disputed this with Capital One. Do you have details of your call (persons name, time and date of call, etc.)? If so you can try following up with a letter letting them know that they're in violation of FCRA and request they delete immediately. Good Luck!
