Was the collection paid? If not, then yes, there is a good chance of it popping on again, maybe by another CA.
If you disputed and TU deleted, then it's gone, unless you never paid it. The CA can rereport it, or they can sell it to another CA who can also re-report it.
IMO, if I had the money and it was legit, I would pay it in exchange for a written agreement that it will never report again with any of the CRA's.
If I disputed it because it wasn't mine, then I'd just keep copies of my report now that it's gone and if it resurfaces, then I'd go crazy on that CA.
I'm dealing with this now. I disputed a debt in 2010 and had it removed (dispute was with the collection agency, not the bureau). It just popped up again by a different collection agency.
Yeah, that's what happens with unpaid accounts. Get a PFD out to them, try to get it off there again and this time it won't come back!

A collection account appeared on my report last month and i disputed it three weeks ago.. It got deleted on my transunion and my fako increased 30 points!!!! My real TU fico here was 658 last august before the collection showed up and am hoping its higher than that now.... my question is, would this collection reappear again in the future??? I cant believe a collection account would weigh so much in scoring...
First off, collections are major negatives and thus drops your score big time. Any and all collections will impact your score, and if you only have one, it will impact it a ton.
If the collection reappears with the same CA, they would be required to submit documentation supporting the reinsertion, and the CRAhas to notify you within 5 days.
If a NEW CA obtains its, they have to follow the same FDCPA and FCRA statutes as any newly listed collection, so if it is unpaid, then yes it can (and often will) come back...

I am in the same situation. The CA removed via a BBB complaint. The OC just verified the debt, but did correct the DOLA. Since it shows the debt was a charge off/or sold....then I can't pay the OC, right? Do I just have to wait for the next CA to appear or is there a way I can offer the OC a PFD?
The debt more than likely has been sold and they cannot accept payment. You will probably have to wait for a CA to pop up out of the woodwork to figure out who owns the debt now.
