I have disputed a few collection and had them removed for various reasons in the last few months. I have not had one new credit report sent to me. Is there a reason for this? It is my understanding that a CRA is supposed to send a new report when a dispute has resulted in a deletion. Am I missing something?
Yes, when a dispute thru a CRA results in the CRA making any change, then they are required to send an accompanying credit report along with the Notice of Results that shows that the chages have been made. FCRA 611(a)(6)(B)(ii).
However, there can be a "catch".
if, upon being referred a copy of the dispute, the debt collector simply deltes their collection wihtout reply back to the CRA, then technically the dispute is rendered moot because the disputed information is no longer of record. Thus, the CRA does not do the deletion via a Notice of Resuts, and is thus not required to send a copy of a credit report demonstrating that they made any changes.
That is most lkely what happened.... the debt collector deleted, not the CRA.
Ahh. Makes sense. Thanks Robert!

Would be interesting & helpful to compile a list of collectors that deleted this way.
