I disputed some items on my credit report. I filed a dispute online with TU. I spoke to a rep the other day to check the status of my dispute and he told me everything that was deleted. There is one item that was deleted on my TU report that remains on my Equifax and Experian report. That has me thinking if the items he told me were removed were really removed. There are still two items that are under investigation. This collection he told me was removed is new. Could he have made a mistake? I tried calling but they were closed due to the holiday.
TU deleted an account doesn't mean EQ and EX would do the same. They're independent of each other. You'll have to dispute to each of the reporting bureau.
TU will send you a copy of your report after your dispute(s) are done being investigated. I'd say wait for it and review it to see what were done. If you got an extra collection account deleted, good for you! If they still have some erroneous info on there, do another dispute.
You dont necessarily have to dispute with each CRA. The FCRA requires the party who corrects or deletes information as the result of a dispute through one CRA to additionally report that correction/deletion to each CRA to which they had also reported the disputed information. FCRA 623(b)(1)(D).
Did you ever get the required Notice of Results of Investigation from the CRA upon conclusion of your dispute, as required under FCRA 611(a)(6)? If you are sure that they deleted as the result of the dispute, then they have not completed their responsibilities.
If the dispute resulted in the deletion, then the party who reported the information has failed to comply with section 623(b)(1)(D). I would call them and remind them of their responsibility to report the results to each CRA. The CRAs dont notify each other. The responsibility resides with the furnisher of the disputed information.

Neat, thanks for the information on that Robert.
