You need to find a valid error in its reporting to dispute, I would send a direct dispute directly to the CA   http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/Direct-dispute/td-p/2309095

Might also try calling the OC having them recall the collection in exchange for full payment.

Re: Disputing Collection on Eqifax

If the collection is correct and valid then disputing it could hurt your chances of future pfd. Sometimes you have to find the right person to request the pfd from before you get it.

You can google the hippa process and speak to the creator for additional advice.

Re: Disputing Collection on Eqifax

May not work for you but I've had success paying creditor and then asking for delete after the fact.  Not sure of the reason but a lot of creditors say they won't pay for deletion but will then delete after payment has been made.

Once again, this may not work but wanted to let you know I've had success going this route.  Good luck!

Re: Disputing Collection on Eqifax

Denial of a PFD is not a disputable inaccuracy.

To the contrary, it is in compliance with the CRA policy that furnishers not delete reporting based on payment of the debt.

Stick with pursuing a request for their GW.
