Do I DV Collection Aren't Reporting?????

I have many letter from collection agencies that have yet to show up on my credit.  I am afraid to DV them because they might automatically report once they receive the correspondence.  How do you handle collections that aren't reporting.  Do you just pay the debt? or, DV anyway?

That has happened to me twice, once with Comcast and I forget the other.  I called the CA and asked if it was reporting and they said not yet.  I then went to a local Comcast and paid them directly but I had to fax the CA a copy of the PIF receipt.  They never did report it to CRAs.  The other one I got a letter from, I just called them up and paid it.  That one never got reported either.  Hope that helps.
