Are accounts that are currently in dispute omitted from the FICO algorithm?
Wow, that is interesting.
I didn't notice a score increase as the items reported in dispute. I only saw an increase in score when I paid off all of my credit cards and a couple of installment accounts.

Your scores also theoretically can go DOWN during a dispute, if the disputed item is making some major positive contribution to your scores that outweighs its negative effects.
If it comes back verified, it'll go back into scoring consideration, of course.
I have an online disputed item that dropped my score by -23 points. It's still being investigated. I've settled with the OC and have sent a GW letter to them yesterday. I hope they will agree to remove because they updated the payment history with a negative mark for Mar as "RF" (reposession/foreclosure) which is inaccurate as this was a personal loan. A lesson learned is to never co-sign again.

Back in 2000, my brother co-signed a car loan for me. A couple years ago, starting my fico-cleanup, I knew I'd had one late pmt in Dec on that loan. My Bro...with no PC asked me to get his report & there it was on HIS!
I felt so bad that I sent a GW to the bank asking that even if they couldn't remove mine, could they please remove his??
They removed BOTH! I felt worse about his black mark than my own!
Just got this from my LO:
I have run your loan application and credit through the automated system and received an automated approvalJ.
