Does Experian take awhile to update, or should I follow up?

I just spoke with a rep at a collection agency I did a PFD in May with.  I have a deletion letter too.  I called today and she pulled up my account and confirmed request to delete was submitted 6-1.  As of today, its still showing up on Experian.  Is this typical, or should I take some action?  thanks!

I'm having the same problem. My Equifax and Transunion were removed 2 weeks ago. Experian is still showing.

on EX I have two accounts that "estimate" they will fall off in august...Does EX update it on its own and they fall off? Or should I dispute it? I have heard of some people using the online dispute when this happens and seeing them removed.

It can take up to 90 days for deletions.

So if I wait another month, at 90 days if its still not removed, whats the best action?

Mail/fax/email Experian a copy of letter? It does not state I paid anything.

Dispute online?

I would get a copy of the bank statement that shows you paid them if they didnt give you anything showing you paid them. Afterward if you dispute it through the CRA when they go to investigate it, in theory if the CA keeps their word, it could be removed that way if it doesnt happen to be removed by then.

Re: Does Experian take awhile to update, or should I follow up?

I have 2 letters: one showing paid in full, the other is a request to delete.

From what Ive read (hoping DaBears hops in if Im mistaken) is that the CRAs frown on the letters that state a debt was paaid and request to delete because its in essense a violation because the debt should technically be marked as paid, not deleted
