I'm just in amazement right now, I got a tax lien and a public record deleted off my TransUnion report this week by using the direct dispute, I know I have read a lot of people's successes with this but didn't think it was going to be that easy, I have 5 public records on each report but only 3 on TransUnion now with a 3rd one in the dispute process right now which if things keep going the way they're going might be deleted as well.
Any estimation how many points I might expect to get for each of these, I was thinking each might be worth a 10 point or so bump but honestly have no idea, I do remember when I had a collections fall off I got a huge increase but my scores were still in the 500's back then.
Any word on this becoming available for Equifax too? I feel like it's the "Direct Dispute" thing that's getting the results, not the actual act of disputing because I haven't had similar results disputing stuff directly through Experian and Equifax yet. I guess I can't be anything but happy though, even if only my TransUnion report will be better off than the other two at least that's something, seems TU gets pulled waaaaay more than others anyway when it comes to credit decisions.
I wish this was a 3 beruea thing...
I am not sure. I am batting 50-50 on Credit Karma right now but will take what I can get. My disputes directly to Experian were very successful! Equifax, I can't even remember. Pretty embarrassing.
Transunion deleted 8 Medical Collectios (only place they were reporting) they have not returned yet, but who knows.
It feels kind of amazing to be surprised by success with these, I wish I had the direct dispute option with more than just TU though -- I have open disputes for the other two disputing the same items but I have a feeling TU is the only one that's going to be successful, I want to buy a house and not having these sure would make that much more feasible, I figure I'll probably have to rent for one more year though since my land lord wants to put this one on the market in 3 months (ie: we need to move).
I am hoping to buy next summer. It's a scary prospect. My credit is in the proverbial toilet. But recently was in the sewer so am working my way up! We are moving next summer so the thought of renting for a year then having to move AGAIN to buy...it's disheartening. :/ Good luck with the deletions.

Don't the temporarily remove them while 8n dispute? Are you sure they were permanently deleted
I'm honestly not sure, maybe I'm just wishful thinking... I guess I'll keep an eye on them coming back if that's the case.
I hope they stay gone, it says "deleted" as the result of the direct dispute and when I go to my report it shows 3 public records instead of 5 but it does seem kind of too good to be true with the lack of effort involved so I wouldn't be surprised if what you're saying ends up being true.

If it says the decision is deleted I would think that means they're gone.
Yeah, looks good over here... I hope it sticks.
Kind of crazy the Tax Lien one took almost a full month and the other one took just a few days.

No, only certain aspects of the TL are removed from Fico scoring during a dispute.
