Does a CA have to validate?

I have sent a validation letter to a CA that listed on my report. I have not heard back and have about 9 more days. What do I do if they do not validate? What recourse do I have?

Send the letter to the CRA...stating they failed to validate..and must be deleted...hoping they delete...
