Dunning Letter

Is it against the law for a company to report a debt on your credit without sending you a Dunning letter?  I got a hit on my CR for a company named "ARS" for a medical debt owed by my BOYFRIEND which in turn lowered my EQ score 22 points!!! But I haven't even received a Dunning & it's been 12 days!!!!! Is this legal?????

Re: Dunning Letter

First communications can be an entry on your CR.  However, they have 5 days to send you a dunning letter afterwards.

If you haven't recieved one, yes it is a violation.

Why is your boyfriends debt on your CR?  Did you sign as the responsible party?
