I had a collection for $366 report on my EQ, EX, and TU.
EQ Fico before was 573.
EQ Fico now is 571, only difference is one INQ.
How on earth can removing a collection account make the score unchanged?
BTW, I know my UTL is killing me, but I worked very hard over the course of the winter and spring to get all these baddies off, and it really didn't make much of an improvement. You would think with a perfect credit report with no lates, charge offs, or collections, my score would be a little higher than the 570's. Like I said, I know UTL is the major factor, but you would think I would be in the 600's with this type of report.
Are you sure that the Score you pulled has reflected the deletion of that CA account?
Yes.
anyone?
How new are your open accounts? Some of my defaulted student loans that are at a 0 balance have been coming off the last couple months and were my oldest accounts of 12 years. All my open credit is within the last 2 years so my average age dropped from 10 years to around 1.5 so I'm not seeing much of a bump as they come off because I'm taking a hit on average age in the process.

How old was your collection? Sorry, just answered my own question.
It's possible that the INQ ding offset the Collection removal boost. And yes, UTIL is one of the largest factors in your FICO.
