Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

When pulling TC this morning I noticed that EQ deleted a GOOD ACCOUNT. That's going to hurt my score isn't it. Why oh why did they mess with that account. I did not dispute that account ever. It was an account that was paid on time and never late. Now its gone.Message Edited by Harpo on 10-07-2008 08:08 AM
It could hurt if contributing to your avg. age, your mix, among others. Did it hit the 10 year mark?

Mine was a Mortgage paid in 2004. I saw the refresh on TU and EX-
This account will stay on EX until 2017

TU and EQ are both not reporting one of my three credit cards. 12 year history, no negatives at all. The OC says there's nothing they can do. They say they update, but no dice.
Same thing with my sister - she has a lot of BAD history, and one perfect car loan for the past 2 years. It's not report on her EX report and that report is about 40 points LESS than the other two. I'm sure it's because of this stinking auto loan.
Good topic.
The FCRA only mandates what cannot be included in your CR. It does NOT have any requriements, whatsoever, mandating any creditor to even report, or for any CRA to maintain previously reported data in your file/CR for any period of time.
Due to statutory requirements of the FCRA relating to various forms of information that cannot be reported (OC derogs, 7 yrs, CO/CA 7 1/2 yrs BK 10 yrs), the CRAs seem to maintain this data for 10 years, to assure reporting of critical FCRA compliance dates, but then will delete acounts that exceed these dates, which is normally 10 years max. But they can do it a 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 years at thier business discretion. Their reasons for deletion are obvious Their database us umongous, and keeping records forever would blow their computers to bits.
There is no requirment of statute or regulation that mandates a CRA to maintain any data beyond any date specified.
If you close an account, expect to lose all of its aging at ten years from the closing date, but it could be earlier.
