Email for PFDs and GWs - yes or no?

Searched through the forum, conflicting results.

I'm not doing any DV's,  but for PFDs and GWs,  has anyone had any success with email?

I am currently in the middle of GW with Cap One via email. Which I am only trying because Ive read others on the forum have success. I'm still awaiting a call back from the rep b/c I didnt have my acct number and she said she wants to make sure she finds the right account and should be calling me back by Friday. I'll update you

I've emailed synchrony for goodwill letters, and gotten Hand signed replies back from them explaining why they couldn't do it for me (I'll be emailing the stew outta them now along with some nice hand written letters lol)
