Email or Snail mail for Goodwill Letters?

Hello,

 I  would like to know the general opinion on whether it is best to send goodwill letters via email or snail mail. 

 

Also, should they be sent requesting a proof of receipt?

Both it cant hurt. Send proofof payment and reason why it went late. Be nice and pleasent
