Just wanted to inform anybody who also has a collection with Enhanced Recovery Company (ERC) that they actually have an option for PFD or PIF when you call their number or a certain number. I called them yesterday and pretty much went straight to a representative. This morning I just called with the number thats on the Snail Mail they sent out a couple of months ago and they had an automated option for PFD or PIF, i forgot which one, but after you choose that option it goes to a rep. Just state what you pushed on the phone and that you want to PFD or PIF. The rep said when I make my payment through that phone that they automatically send out one of those confirmation letters in about 7 days after payment. She said just to call back if I don't hear anything within that timeframe.
The number I used to get both prompts was: 1(800) 496-4831
Hope this can help out someone who is in the same boat with the company. Seems that they have come to expect this stuff now. Guess it's great for us. But thats my experience so far. Will update when I receive the letter or if I receive it. lol.

There's a huge difference between a PIF, which any debt collector is apt to scoff up without question, and consideration of a deletion as a condition of that PIF.
I have never heard of a debt collector offering a regular process for handling requests for CR deletion based on payment of a debt, let alone an automated system.
Such a process would appear contrary to their credit reporting agreement with the CRAs, which I highly doubt they would advertise as a regular process.
I would be interested in what they are officially offering.....

I undertstand that there is a difference in the 2. The fact that it was on the automated phone kinda threw me off. Either way it feels good to h ave it paid. and if it is the PIF instead of PDF i'll just try some GW letters. I've seen some recent success that some of the other members on this community have had. So in 7 days we'll see. The rep said it's supposed to be removed, but you never know, she might not have not what she was talking about.

Here's a quick update. I called ERC today and the rep told me they received my payment and that it was PIF. He said the account would be updated on the Credit Report and he said the confirmation letter should get to me in about 10 days. I asked specifically if this would delete the account and he said no. Should I call back and try to speak with someone a little higher or what can I do to get them to delete? Is my only option to try a GW letter now? or can I try disputing through each of the 3 Credit Bureau's and see if they have it removed? any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get this removed if this will help boost my score more than the PIF.

I had zero luck with ERC.
I had a 5 year old $37 debt with Sprint that ERC bought. They wouldn't do anything besides offer to take payment and send me a PIF letter - not useful.
I don't know who your OC is, but I called Sprint's Recovery Dept. (can google the number) and talked to some really funny black guy, we chatted for a bit and he was happy to do a PFD. Two days later it was gone from EX CR, and have since verified its removal from TU and EQ.
Right, so...depending on your OC, you might want to talk to them.

Thanks for the advice. just to make sure instead of doing a GW letter I just went ahead and disputed through the Credit Bureau's and after the investigation was over they decided to remove from report yay!
