"Equifax Online Dispute We apologize that we are unable to process your dispute request. You live in an area with a zip code that is managed by CSC CREDIT SERVICES. To complete your dispute, you may click on the CSC Credit Services link below."

Re: Equifax cant process dispute?

They are a legal CRA, under agreement with EQ.  They administer many credit files under contract with EQ in certain areas of the country.

They are legit.

They hold your entire credit file.

Re: Equifax cant process dispute?

The contractual relationship between CSC and Equifax goes back as long as I can remember - certainly more than 11 years.  It's not anything likely to change and CSC is bound by all the FCRA provisions just as Equifax is.  You deal with a different, and probably no better and no worse set of CSRs, just all the reports come out as "Equifax".

I've lived in Maine, then Texas, and recently Virginia and Maryland so have been in territories of both.

Re: Equifax cant process dispute?

My suggestion:

Dont dispute through a CRA.  Period.

Dispute directly with the creditor/debt collector who actually posted this to your CR.

As of 7/1/2010, the new direct dispute process set forth in FCRA 623(a)(8) was fully implemented, as set forth in 16 CFR 660.4.

There is no longer any need to let the CRAs interject this kind of hassle into the dispute process.

Just kick the CRA to the curb, and deal directly with the one who posted the disputed information.
