Equifax fraud alert

Ewuifax sent me a letrer saying that i asked themto put a fraud alert for 90 days and that they would do me the favor of alerting Experian and Transunion to do the same. I NEVER asked for a fraud alert.in fact i JUST was finally able to get the one removed that had been there. What do i do??

Under the FCRA, fraud alers are only imposed and rescinded at the specific request of the consumer or their designated representative.

The CRAs, and rightfully so in my opinion, take it upon themselves in certan situations where there has been no explicit request to assume a request based on some indication from a consumer that things appear awry.

To have it rescinded, simply notiy the consumer, along with proof of identity, to rescind.
