I am back trying to clear up a few of the low hanging fruit on my report.
May 2011 is the DOFD for First Premier Bank CC. I settled the account for less than full balance last year. Maybe $150 of $375 balance.
Equifax is the only CRB reporting still & they have 05/2011 as the DOFD. The other two CRBs have deleted the TL.
Can someone suggest a link or sample letter I can send to Equifax to request the deletion. I realize I should *technically* be sending it in May, but I have some time this week and can send the letter out--I figure if they deny, then by the time I get the denial I can just file a dispute in May to have it removed.
Any help is appreciated.
Hi LindysMom,
Pick up teh phone and call equifax and just ask to have the item excluded from your report. Equifax has been reported to do this 2 months early. You will likely have to go through two levels of "front line" folks before you reach someone that will actually be able to do this. Just be nice, ask that an item be excluded due to its age. NOTE: the first two levels of people will likely say there is nothing they can do, but they cana open a dispute for you. DO NOT DO THIS> make certain you tell them you do NOT want to dispute anything, and ask to speak to thier supervisor for a different opinion.
You should be able to do this relatively easily. Just be nice, and note that you are asked for something to be "excluded early". Search teh forums for other examples.
Thank you phish- I honestly never would have thought about calling! Often times when I call places like this the language barrier is too heavy for me to even consider continuing the call. That's not a jab/complaint, but more of what I have come to experience.
I will try this today & report back. Thank you soo much!
