After a long year of rebuilding Ive finally gotten to where I no longer feel embarrassed of my credit reports. I no longer have any negatives on any of my reports except one, and its a paid collection from Midland Funding and it only shows on my Experian report. It came off of both Transunion and Equifax last August but has continued to stay on Experian until now. As of last month it hit the 7 year mark and should fall off soon. I cant wait any longer so I have tried different avenues online to try and get it removed but everytime I try to do an online dispute with Experian it says "unable to process this online" and that I have to call some number and get a report sent to my house then do it by mail... seriously? Does anybody have any suggestions that doesnt involve the pony express or is it my only route to go. Id much rather do it online. Thanks and any help would be much appreciated. By the way ive tried to dispute it from experian.com, americanexpress' credit secure, and myfico but no luck. I had much success doing disputes through Quizzle but they no longer do experian so I cancelled them.
I am getting the same thing when I try to dispute on Experian as well. I have an old Citi Flex Line on there still showing a balance when it was sold to Unifund and has since been paid. It was removed from EQ and TU long ago, but crappy ole EX seems quite attached to it and doesn't want to let it go. I only just noticed it was still showing up a week ago. Guess I'll have them mail me a report and go that route.
Ugh.... so lame. But I guess its the only choice we have.
Credit repair is always best done by snail mail for paper trail in case suit needs to be brought to enforce your rights. One could also use the telephone if you have a report number....
Thanks, Im going the snail mail route. Lets hope the snail is as fast as Turbo from the Disney movie, I want this thing resolved
