FACO Question

Why is it that (FACO) is listed next to several Experian cores....doesen't Experian have to follow the same scoring process as EQ, and TU?

Re: FACO Question

EX no longer sells a true FICO score to the consumer.  Only creditors can get them (and a CU in PA supposedly).

The reason it says FAKO is because it is a EX score, not a FICO.

Re: FACO Question

To me FAKO is a good way of saying a score is not a true FICO score,

FAKE FICO = FAKO.

Re: FACO Question

How can they get away with that!

I find that very misleading when you purchase a triple CRA "Credit Score".

One would be " Lead to believe"  their all reporting the same way to base your current status with.

Here I was all excited to have one near 700.......

Re: FACO Question

Where did you get your scores from?

You can purchase a EQ FICO at Equifax.com and a TU from Transunioncs.com

They get away with it because they sell you exactly what is offered - "credit scores" not  "FICO credit scores". If people will read the fine print on these sites no where will the word FICO appear as being for sale. I was misled just like you and many others until I came here so you are not alone.

No one has been able to pull their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only. You can only buy true FICO scores at a few places. One place is here at myfico. I suggest you do an internet search for "myfico discount codes" to save a little money. You can also purchase your Equifax score at www.equifax.com (If you look hard enough) and your Transunion score at www.transunioncs.com.

Re: FACO Question

There's different scoring models.  FICO is one of them.  When you get a triple score, it's the same scoring model for each bureau, but you will not find a triple FICO score outside of a lender.

Starting Score: EQ 583 TU04 619 EX 592 (lender pull) 2010
Previous High Score: EQ 700 TU04 712 EX 726
Current Score: EQ 740 TU(Discover) 750 EX(AMEX) 747
Goal Score: 740+ all around

I will add that though there different scoring models, FICO is the ONLY one that is used by creditors.  There are also different models within FICO.
