Federal Tax Lien + Credit History

If a person has a Federal Tax Lien that is about to expire in October, does anyone out there on the Internet know if Lien of this type will drop off the credit reports history or would the person need to submit a removal request to the three Credit Bureaus?

If it's paid it should come off. If it was paid you could have had them removed already with the fresh start program.

Thanks for the reply but that did not address the question, really. The question is about Expiring Liens only, regardless of payment status.

If yours is about to hit the 7-year mark, it will fall off on its own. Otherwise, you can jump through a few hoops to get paid Federal ones removed, which can take a couple months. State liens are a whole other kettle of fish. A handful of states have a removal procedure in place, but most don't.
