Apart from the obvious benefits of cleaning up your credit, there are others as well. I managed to get a CLI on my JCPenney account from $500 to $3500. With the boost to my total available credit, I turned right around and placed a call to Credit One advising them that I was calling to cancel my acount post-haste! I got transferred to an account specialist who genereously (heavy sarcasm here) offered me a 20% refund on my annual fee and a 6 month APR reduction to 19.95%. I respectfully declined the offer and closed out the acount Daa-yum, that felt great!
