Filed Equifax dispute on 1/13. Still not completed.

I filed a dispute with Equifax (online) on 1/13. The status page says estimated date of completion is 2/4/15, which is obviously in the past now. The date still hasn't updated, and tomorrow is the 30 day mark for the dispute. Very wierd that the estimated date of completion is now a week in the past...if it still isn't complete by tomorrow what actions should I take?

Did you dispute based on a report obtained from annualcreditreport.com?  IIRC, CRAs have up to 45 days to complete investigations based on free annual credit reports.   Someone may be able to provide more information on that.

The 30-day period is not the required date of your receipt of the Notice of Results of Reinvestigation.

It is the date they must conclude their reinvestigation.

That period is extended to 45 days only if the consumer sends additional info pertaining to their dispute to the CRA before their reinvestigation is concluded.

They have 5 business days after completion of their reinvestigation to mail (or send electronically, if you have agreed to receive the results electronically) the NOtice of Results of Reinvestigation to the consumer.

Thirty days to complete their reinvestigation plus up to 7 days to mail their notice, plus mailing time, resutls in around 40 days after filing the dispute before one should question their compliance with the statute.

I purchased the report from Equifax, so it wasn't free. I'll give it some more time, I just wish they would hurry it up. My next steps on these accounts depend on the results of this dispute.

If it makes you feel better, I'm in somewhat the same boat. I filed a dispute on 1/27, and when I log in it says that my dispute results were estimated to be ready on 2/7. Clearly I'm still a couple weeks away from the 30 day (or 40 day) results deadline, but it does seem odd that they're running so far behind their estimated times.

In my case it also appears some sort of action has been taken (the account I disputed is no longer on my EQ file - for now), but since I don't have the official results I don't know whether that deletion is permanent or temporary.

Here's hoping they get both of us our results asap so we can keep moving.

Starting score 3/30/13: 570s across the board
As of 2/17/18: EX 802 | EQ 809 | TU 811

CSR 34K | Freedom 21K | Marriott 24K | Alaska 21K | Citi Dividend 5.9K | Barclay Rewards MC 15K | DCU Visa 10K | AX SPG 24K | AX PRG NPSL | AX Green NPSL | AX EDP 10K | Cap One Venture 20K | SFCU Visa 15K | Barclay Arrival+ 24K (AU) | BankAmericard 13.5K (AU)

In that case, you would need to allow the 5 business days after the 30 days for investigation has concluded.   In my own experience, EQ tends to take the full period to investigate, TU concludes most quickly, with EX being a close second place.

Same thing here. Disouted the 25th of January, estimated completion says 2/09 and still isn't complete. I keep getting emails daily from EQ saying that they are still working on it. The estimated by date I believe is calculated using an estimated time frame of how long it normally takes the creditor you disputed to respond. In our cases they haven't yet. Hope that helps.
Don’t take your credit for granted, use it with care! These days, catch me in the bankruptcy forum!?

+1

My date, however, was originally like 20 days later. They've since updated it to a date that is in the past. I think everything's done on mine but they haven't pushed through the final status. We'll see.

If you file a multiple disputes at once, will you be updated for each separately or not get a response untl all are completed?
