Yesterday, I got an alert that was majic to my ears.
The Navy Federal Credit Union credit card reported a zero balance, and in return I got a 20 point increase on transunion. I got a 9 point increase on Equifax. Nothing on experian yet.
I have PFD that are supposed to update soon, along with two additional navy federal union credit cards that I paid off. I'm also waiting on Navient to remove all of the (9) 150 day late payments that occured in 2011, as I was in school during the time in which they reported.
Hopefully, once all is said in done I will be in the mid 700's soon.
Current
535 Equifax / Transunion 580 / Experian 549 (no update yet)
Excellent ! Keep moving forward. Congrats on your journey's success. Think of where you'll be 6 months from now.....
I can't wait....Finally seeing results!!!!!
Way to go!
Good work
Congrats, its a good feeling. 12 months ago I hadn't even bothered applying for credit since before the recession. Difficult way to live.
How difficult was your PFD process? How old were they, and were they reporting to all 3 CRA's?
I have a Collection from 2013 for $309 that won't age off until 2019.
It shows up on 2 out of the 3 CRA's. Best case scenario: I pay for delete, it gets removed from both. Worst case: I attempt PFD, they start reporting to the 3rd as well, and/or attempt collections, which they currently are not doing.
Decisions...
My PFD process went unexpectantly well. I called last week towards the end of the month, and I was suprised how they offered to PFD. I had an account with CommonWealth for $932.00 that was recently added....they offered to settle for $373.00 and to DELETE the account from my credit, they even sent me a confirmation email stating that they would be deleting the account.
So, I say if you have the money to settle or pay in full ask if they could delete.....I would call towards the end of the month...because some of the CA rep's must meet a quota.
Good Luck on your Credit Journey.....
