First Anniversary of my Rebuilding - 587 to 668

Thanks for this forum. The information on this forum has helped me a lot. I started my rebuilding process in July 2011. My score was 587 which I pulled in FICO Eqi. I paid off all the collection. Next I have taken public savings secured CC for $300, after 2 months I have taken $2000 secured loan from a credit union for 1 year. This secured loan will be paid off next month.

I still have few negatives in my history (charge-offs, which I paid for collection). My credit score now is 668 (Not changed for the past 1 month). Last week I thought that I will apply for one more secured credit card (with more than $1000 limit) which makes 2 credit cards. I went to Wells Fargo bank (based on my reading on this forum) to apply for a secured credit card, and I was surprised to know that I am approved for non secured card (wells Fargo Rewards Card) with $2500 limit.

Any Suggestions on doing better to increase my score further.

you prob wont see any greater gains for now while that baddie is reporting. was the 668 score you listed a fico score? also was it with the wells fargo account reporting? I have a similar situation as yours. my scores are 660's been building since oct 2011 with 3 cc's and one baddie left. I dont think its possible to break into the 700's with a derog reporting

668 is the FICO score before i was approved for the card. The card was approved yesterday. I am still waiting for my card.

your score is gonna take a hit from the inquiry and new account reporting

Agreed -- the INQ and the lowering of you AAoA will lower your score intitially, unless it lowers your util a lot... but it will be good long term for sure
