I requested my complete account information file from FP, I also asked how long the account would report on my credit reports. I was told that the DOFD was June 1st  2010 and that the 7 year clock started in December 2010 when they charged it off since they are allowed 180 days to report. Is thst correct?

This account has been PIF  since 1/ 11 (before I found this site)

On a technicality, No.   The CRTP is 7 years +180 days from the DOFD.  So the time period is correct, the method they used to explain it wasn't.  Time to GW them, and keep at it.  Good Luck!
