First round of GW denial letters back... some questions.

So I sent off a round of 7 goodwill letters to various companies at the begining of the month.

So far, I have only received back 3 letters

- Bank of America

- Sears

- Capital One

Ikea/GE has not sent a letter, but did mark my CR as in dispute, then moved it out of dipute.

The oddest letter I got back was from Capital One. They said there were no lates in the past year, but I never specified a time period in my goodwill request.

So a couple of questions...

How long should it take to hear back from some of these companies (HSBC/GE/Toyota)? And should I specify a date when I do the goodwill request letter? Most of these lates are 2-3 years old.

Thanks.

Just wondering what your response from Sears said?  I sent them a GW about two weeks ago and received a response back that they report all matter and have to legally.

No, don't give them time limits.  You may never hear back from them.  Just keep sending.  And sending.
