Formula for the perfect CR

What is the optimum number of CCs  a person should carry for the best score? ( under 9% util of course)

Also is there any difference in scoring from Citi versus Amex? TIA

Re: Formula for the perfect CR

IMO everyone should have at least 3 CCs. No scoring difference in Citi & Amex.

If you are thinking that one creditor is weighted more than another the answer is no.

Just another tidbit on this topic. Major CCs: Amex, BoA, FIA, CITI, Chase, Discover will give you a few more FICO points than the smaller bank or credit union cards will. Its not a lot of points, but some points.
