From 575 to 714 in a year thanks to this forum!!!!

I didn't realize how little I understood about credit until I found this site. I joined Myfico in March 2013 and found that I had a Equifax score of 575. Suffice it to say I have a history of making bad credit decisions. I only had one credit card, a Capitalone MC with a 3.2k limit that I couldn't get to move no matter what I did. Well, armed with the information from the board, I was able to get an IRS tax lien removed from my report and a BOA cash rewards card with a 5k limit back in August 2013. Once I had the BOA card I was able to contact the Capitalone FB folk and press for an CLI. My CL was increased to 5k (amazing!).

Last week I applied for the True Earnings AMEX (I practically live at Costco) and was instantly approved for 5k. On the same day I applied for the Chase Freedom. I was instantly approved for 4.5k for the Freedom but reconned and asked for 10k and was countered with 7k. I could not be happier! To have a credit score over 700 is almost more than I can believe. I keep looking at it to make sure it is real! I will be in the garden for minimally a year because I want to buy a house.
