I have a negative TL from GECRB listed as charge off (about $500) on my credit report. I believe they sold the account to LVNV.

I was able to get LVNV to delete the tradeline from my reports, basically closing the account through filing a BBB complaint.

So is there anything I could do to get GECRB off my reports? What should my next step be?

If it is paid you can try sending GW letters.  If not it may be hard to do.

If you find ANYTHING on this, let me know.  I have mine paid, even though I have ZERO clue what it was, but trying to secure a home loan so I paid it.  I just want to get in touch with somebody to try to help me out.

 I called and them and complained to them that they were to remove the "collections" status off my TL.  It wasn't actually a collection but a charge off.  I settled for about half of what I owed.  The first time they removed all of my payment history but left the "charge off" status on there.  When I called a few days ago they said they would remove that too.
