GW letter didn't get me a delete but a change. Is it better or not?

I GWed Barclay's Bank.  They have been really nice and courteous.

They didn't delete my account but made a change.  Here is what it was before the GW letter:

Was the before better?  I am wondering if this is why I saw a drop in my score from the increase that I had.  ( I went from 598 to 605 to 607 to 598).  Other things that happened in between were 2 CO that I was AU on were deleted, Midland deleted, and my mortgage company removed a 60 day late from December 2010(wasn't correct).

I still have yet to talk to Barclays, we are playing phone tag.  But I am wondering do I tell them to switch it back! OR plead my case for the deletion?  I am starting to wonder if they just killed my score with this change.

I see they removed 3 90 day lates.  You did have 5 now only 2.  They also removed the paid CO annotation.

As long as it has a settled remark, I don't think your score will raise.

Will you pm the info where you are sending your Barclays GW. I have had no luck.  Also midland info would be helpful as well, as all I get is "we can only do paid in full" when I talk to them. Thanks and congrats on your success!

Congrats, OP! The ones they removed were the most recent too!

I'd wait it out a year or so and then maybe I would GW again. I certainly wouldn't do that now, though.

Re: GW letter didn't get me a delete but a change. Is it better or not?

Hi there, could you please PM me the information or address in which you sent your Goodwill letter to Barclay's? I am currently trying to remove 1 30 day late with them and have been unsucessful dealing with their regular customer service line. Also would you happen to have a copy of the goodwill letter you sent?  I was recently sucessful in getting JC Penneys to remove a 30 day late and was hoping I could have the same success with Barclays. To be  honest with you, I didn't think JC Penneys would budge from me sending a GW but they were responsive right away. I thought that Barclays would have been a piece of  cake...guess not. Please let me know the information to contact them when you get a chance.

Thanks,

LaKeya
