GW resulted in a notation on credit report?

I sent a GW letter to lowes for a 1 month 30 day hit.  Now today my credit report under them says, "Consumer disputes this account information"

Um, I dont dispute anything!  I just asked for a good will change.   Does this notation affect my credit at all negatively?

Re: GW resulted in a notation on credit report?

Many times a creditor will take a GW as a dispute even though it clearly is not.

Yes, it can impact your score.  When an OC account is in dispute, certain aspects of that account are removed from scoring.  It can cause your score to go up or down.  When the dispute is resolved it should go back to pre dispute, depending on what they do to the account,

I would contact the OC and tell them it was a GW letter not a dispute and to please remove the dispute comment.
