Hey Everyone: Is gardening when you don't apply for credit for a certain period of time? If that is the case, then I am gardening for the next year and trying to save up for car. Living in NYC I don't need a car immediately and working on trying to get my credit to a place where I can apply for a home in 2014. Have been checking out NACA and SONYMA and if anyone has used NACA or SONYMA I would appreciate your advice. Thanks so much! Sassymomma
Gardening is not applying for any new credit and taking good care of existing credit. It refers quite a bit to revolving accts.
+ 1 on the above. I am gardening right now! Had major delinquencies in 2008 simce then have obtained 3 secured credit cards and 1 unsecured all with low limits. Am paying them on time, keeping the balances low, not applying for new credit, and trying to garden (grow) the existing credit limits by depositng more money to the secured cards when i can afford it, and managing the unsecured card responsibly enough so that they eventually give me a limit increase.
Thanks everyone!
