Getting Collections Deleted

I have a ? about the GW letters.

These are what i have in collections, all paid!

Recovery Systems- 6 paid collections for bad checks back in 2004.

Collection Professionals- 3 paid collections. 2 in 2004 and 1 in 2007. One is for my old checking account,  one is for eye doctor(had an emergency), and one is for a payday loan.

On the GW letters, to Recovery Systems and Collection Prof. do I ask them in one letter to remove all of them, or do I need to send a different letter for each one?

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

I would send a letter for each one...for the checking account...usually the OC will delete...once the TL is paid...have you ever contacted them about pulling out of collections???...definitely send GW letters...

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

Once the collection agency has been paid, I don't think the OC will/can remove the account from collections.

As for sending the letters..........I am not sure which would be best. Maybe try it one way and if fail, try another.

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

Maybe my experience was unique (or I was given misinfo, I'll report back when it actually happens,) but I called Bay State Gas and will call Western Ma Electric Co tomorrow. BSG informed me that they can request that the file be called back to them when accounts are PIF but of course YMMV.

UGH I knew it was too good to be true. I was told that they could recall and get them deleted off my report but when I called today of course that's not the case. I guess I just have to wait now. Of course, I disputed one with TU and it changed from unpaid to paid. Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up.

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

The key here is to be presistent, keep sending GW letters, send them one a week regular mail, they will get tired of hearing from you and eventually delete.

The trick is to send the letters different everytime so they don't just look at the envie and toss it.

Example, letter one, hand write and send CMRRR to make sure you have to correct address and wait for a response, if they don't delete send another one every week, make the next one in a small envie, fold the letter up so it is bulky and gets their attention and they want to open it.
The next one send with a printed address label no return address but do include your return address INSIDE the envie on the new GW, change the GW around a bit so it doesn't read the same, Co's HATE form letters. Keep doing that in a different way each time.

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

Karen~I had the same problem with United Compucred and I was strait up with the manager I spoke with I stated that I had 6 collections with them and I had already paid them.  Also I advised that I was in the process of purchasing a home and the checks were the only thing preventing me from getting the home of my dream.  The supervisor immediately understood my concerns and deleted them all.  She put an emergency delete in place and they were off of my reports within 24-48 hours flat.  Try that method as it was very beneficial to me and my scoresSmiley Happy

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

Ty! I will try again. Am I allowed to ask, did you speak with the Ohio office? That's where my account is. I only had a toll free number but with my cell I think I'll try the toll number. Did you ask for a supervisor or just the people who answered the phone? I don't want to be rude or labled a troublemaker. Since I tried today, I think I'll wait to see your response and try again tomorrow.

Yes!  I spoke with a manager within the Ohio office and she was sweet as pie!  She even told me that when I get the house would I invite her to the cook out?  LOL  She was a sweetie!

Re: Getting Collections Deleted

I tried again this afternoon just for fun and talked to a supervisor too. Her name's in the other room but she said something about they didn't have my phone number in there so she'd send it to be deleted. Hopefully that means it will be? I wish I had known about having grounds to delete if they had wrong info before I paid it, but if this works I'm happy. Gonna try the same with NCO if it's still on at the end of August. Gosh, that seems so far away. It'll be here eventually though.

Thanks for the tip!
