Going on as Authorized Card Holder. Thoughts?

Thank you all very much for all of your help.  In the past year I've erased all but 1 collection (previously 10) from my CR, paid down one closed (90 day late) CC to $0, and am working towards rebuilding my credit.  My FICO has gone from 509 to 548, and I'm trying to pay off some charge off student loans to get a better increase.   All thanks to this forum.  Small strides, I know, but honestly the numbers can't show how much I've gained in responisbility and knowledge.

My question now is this:  My fiance has a Target Visa CC with a $2000 CL that is nearly maxed out, but it is open and paid every month for the past 2 years.  I currently do not have any CCs reporting open on my CR, just three that are closed and 1 still has a balance.  I was just awarded a Capital One card with a $300 limit that should be reporting any day now.

I can put myself on as an authorized card holder on her CC account.  Do you think I should do this?  Will this even report to my CR?  If so, will this hurt me given the balance being nearly maxed out? Or will this help me with being another open CC account?.

Thanks again for your help.

You do not want to added to a nearly maxed out card. This will not help but hurt your credit scroes.
