Hi all,
I have been perusing the boards for several months now looking for ways to repair my credit. I had a charge off that was paid off over the span of a year that I wanted to get removed as my fiance and I are begining to look to purchase a home. I decided to send a goodwill letter to the Capital One executive office due to the high amount of success stories associated with reaching out via that process.
I however did not receive the same sucess.
I received a voicemail message from someone at the Executive Office and tried over two days to reach her. When I finally did, she explained to me that they could not delete my Paid Charge Off because their policy is making adjustments only due to a bank error (their error). I continued to describe my situation, the 3 Capital one Cards I currently have (either as an authorized user or my own) and how I have never been late on any of those cards/pay in full every statement, as well as why I wanted to have it removed only to be continually told that it could only be removed/adjusted due to a bank error. Has anyone been met with the same result?

This is in line with others that report experiences with Cap-1, they do not do PFD either. Your only shot on this is if its 6+ yrs old, they may lighten up then but I wouldnt even worry about it if its paid, once its a CO its always a CO even when paid, it should report PAID WAS CO.

+1. I tried to GW my paid CO and met the same results. I think I'll try sending a letter again in May, since that'll be the 6 year mark. I talk to the EO enough these days as it is.
Same situation here. I have two current Capital One Cards (one moved from HSBC) and an auto loan that have perfect pay histories but two charge offs from mid / late 2007. Even thought I am only 4 months from one card aging off and about 6 months from the other no letter that I have sent has done any good. I have spoken to the Exec Office at least twice now and have gotten the same response. Which has been no.
Good luck...I figure I will give it a month and send another round of letter.
