Goodwill Letter

Never knew about Goodwill Letters until I came here. Great stuff! I plan on writing a goodwill letter to a couple of creditors. For an account that went to collections do I write the goodwill letter to the collection agency or original creditor? Probably a silly question but just want to make sure. In my Experian report in the Credit Items section it shows name of collection agency, address, account number, etc. and indicated who original creditor was. I would think I send goodwill letter to collection agency?

Hi, Welcome.

I send my letters to whomever I paid, if I paid the OC, I send it to them, if I paid the CA, I send it to them.

And I also use the addresses that were on my credit report, or you could call the CA or OC and ask them for their mailing address.
