Had two loans with them, missed quite a few payments 2.5 years ago. I have already paid off one account and still in the process of paying off the other account. No missed payments since last late payment 2.5 years ago. I have even been making extra payments trying to pay it off early.
I'm really thinking about sending in gw and try to get the lates removed for both accounts. Have anyone dealt with great lakes before and what are my chances of making this happen and hoping they comply with me.
What was your score after the last late was made 2.5 years ago? A late really shouldn't be affecting your score this far down the road. How late was it - 30/60/90...how many were there?

Terrific, lists all your lates out, how late they are, and their dates. This will help us assess the situation, sometimes accounts are so bad that the best strategy is to try to delete the entire trade line, sometimes this, sometimes that, to get a good game plan it helps to have the raw data. We'll help either way, up to you how much you want to divulge.

First thing I think of for Account 1 is to delete the entire Trade Line - let others chime in on this. You would loose AAoA, and the lates are aolder than 2 years but 120's hurt your score for the duration, I believe.
Account 2 looks like it could be goodwill'd as long as you have been up to date since 2011 - which I asume you are as you would have those listed.

OK that works, I could definitely focus on the first account and send in goodwill letter. But let's see what the other members have to say. Delete the trade line or delete the lates?
The first account is the entire tradeline deletion option, it would not be on your credit report thus the lates would be gone as well. There are so many 120's on that one I just don't know...let's see what others have to say.
The second one is more likely to bend to goodwill's...
