I pulled my reports on Jan 11, 2013. By Jan 23, 2013 I paid off more than 50% of my credit card balance which was at 87% usage on Jan 11. No new charges or balance increases, payments posted and credited prior to billing/closing date. On Jan 23 I had a collection, AU accnt, removed from TU report as well. No new activity, no apps, no inquiries etc. No alerts or changes via score watch. I know negative things affect your scores almost immediately but how long does it take for the good to be recognized?
The CC company needs to report the new balance - which should cause a significant jump in ur score. When does the CC report to the CRB? (if u dont know, u can call to find out or look at old reports)
When I pulled the reports on the 11th the CC balances matched my reports exactly so I assumed the new balances would have reached the CRA by now. I assumed the CC's had reported to the CRA within days prior to the pull on the 11th because the balances were current, inclusive of payments made on dec 28th.
You can also always ask your cc vendors to do an extra report after making a significant change (congrats on that!).
I don't know whether all will. But if they do, then you'll see the change within about three business days.
I think I will call them tomorrow to find out their reporting dates. I have been paying them every 2-3 days, my auto/debit bill pay thinks I'm nuts. I wanted to make sure I had enough acitivty to get an alert/notice from score watch....score watch I need you, I want you!!! sighs......maybe by valentines day!???
