HFC via CAPITAL ONE question??????

I have worked my butt off to resurrect my credit score from the dungeons of the netherworld.  I have made all of my payments on time for over 4 years.  I had one collection that has aged off.  Heck, I even got Cap1 to remove a late payment mark!  Below is my only baddie left with HFC.  It was a pact with the devil from the get go.  I didn't have money for Christmas and I went hog wild.  As you can see it was opened 12/05. I just wanted to get this demon out of my back pocket so I offered them a lump settlement to "go away."  They accepted.

I am still foggy about how long this stays on your credit file as a detriment to a higher credit score.  I know the number is 7 years...but from when? This is the only info I have so your opinions are welcome.

Secondly, I am under the impression that Cap1 bought out HFC.  How do I find out who is in charge of this account?  If it's Cap1 then that's awesome because I have an angel in my pocket in regards to them.  I would like to get this removed as it is my only negative remaining.

UPDATE:

I just went on Cap1's site chat and they said they do not have those accounts and to contact the credit bureaus directly.  Anybody have luck GWing HFC?  If so how did you obtain the result.
