HIPAA Questions...please advise

Under the HIPAA letterwriting process, it states to use a color font or italics, as well as color paper. I don't understand the reason for this. What is wrong with writing a normal letter on white paper?  And what is the  insert a  or insert b?   Thank you.

Re: HIPAA Questions...please advise

By using colored paper, fonts and italics, it makes them have to read the letter.  It can not be scanned.

Insert A is when you submit a payment for an unpaid collection, Insert B is for one that is already paid.

Thank you for the quick reply. And do i understand correctly that once a medical collection has been paid, it must be removed according to HIPAA?  Thanks again

Yes, but you must follow the HIPPA process exactly as it says.  Do all the steps in the order it says to do them.
