I sent an email to HSBC about an old credit card account that should have been deleted and I have disputed it over and over. This was my response. I hope this means they will actually remove it.

You can certainly do what they ask for and it its 7.5 yrs past the DoFD then they must delete, if you get no where with them and it is past CRTP file a dispute with the CRAs demanding its removal for being too old to continue on file, if they refuse then escalate to the CFPB. You need to ascertain the DoFD yourself so you know you are in the right.
Ok thanks and the letter looks very promising. This is the most that I have ever heard from them. Usually they say they have my name but no information attached to my acct because it was charged off. It was bought out but settled with the company who bought the account. I have sent them the information so I'll report the response I get.
A furnisher has no obligation to report deletion of anything based on expiration of any credit report exclusion period.
Credit report exclusion is a requiremnt placed on the CRA to discontinue inclusion of derogs in credit reports they issue after expiration of the relevant exclusion period.
Nothing is actually deleted by the CRA or the furnisher.
Furnisher involvement in credit report exclusion ends with their proper reporting of the relevant date of the derogatory information. They dont report deletion of the information once it becomes excluded.
OC accounts do not become deletied based on expiration of any of the credit report exclusion periods.
Credit report exclusion applies only to the advierse items of information identiifed under FCRA 605(a), and not to OC accunts.
They are asking, in theri letter, for you to identity what specific information you asert to be inaccurate, and your supporting documentation for that assertion.
So, I see on my credit reports that the opened date was April 2008. Does that mean that it will be falling off next month?

Probably not, the open date of an account has no bearing on the time that a derog can remain on file. Its 7 years for individual lates and a max of 7.5 yrs from the DoFD for COed accounts.
Update: I disputed HSBC on my Transunion and Experian asking for them to verify and it was finally deleted. I have done the same to Equifax and waiting to see what happens.
It could have been removed either by deletion as a finding in the dispute, or it could have only become excluded due to reaching 7'ish years from DOFD.
Did you actually receive a Notice of Results of Reinvestigation from the CRA, which is their official finding on the dispute, that they deleted based on lack of verification of whatever you disputed, or did it simply disappear with no Notice of Results from the CRA?

On Transunion, it just shows DELETED. On Equifax, it was never on there, I got it mixed up with something else I got deleted off. It's still on Experian and shows that it was opened on 04/01/2008, paid, closed and sold to Calvary. I don't know when it went delinquent. So possibly, it maybe because it reached 7'ish years.
