Re: Had all these collections removed....

Well, points is points....every bit helps!  Were they pretty old?  Do you still have others?  Seems like the more recent ones have much more of an impact.  Also, I think (or I hope) that when the last collection/derog falls off it would be a bigger jump even if it's older.

how many major derogs do you still have showing?

fwiw, I had 20+ collections and saw very little movement on my score removing them.. until I started widdling them down to close to 0.. i think I didnt even see any gain from the collections until i got to 2??? maybe?? most of my gains were from adding AU accounts..

Just keep at it!!! you will get the last ones removed and see major gains

Re: Had all these collections removed....

The reason that you don't see large gains when having CAs removed is because the FICO scoring algorithm only reads one CA at a time--the most recent one. So, if you were getting all of the older ones removed, you would not see any movement. Once you have newer ones removed, you see the large jumps. People have reported almost 100 point jumps in their scores once they got their last CA removed.

Re: Had all these collections removed....

On TU I had a larger jump when I went from 2 to 1, than I did when I went from 1 to 0.

Yes, good point, it sure was!  My next to last CA to drop off was 18mos-2yrs old I believe.  The last one to drop off did so because of age so it was 7yrs old.
