Have good income and terrible credit

I am new here and have put myself between a rock and a hard place. 5 years ago my credit score was in the high 700's and money was no issue but between health issues and astronomical medical bills an ugly divorce and losing my business I have burned through everything I have and then some my credit score isa  truly terrible 494 and that is my fault. I have run up all my credit cards and and they have been closed along with being hounded by collection agencies.. The good news is I have stopped the bleeding and landed a great job and am in the process of relocating. My issues are I am living in a cheap hotel but my new family is coming out and I need to get the security deposit together in order to secure housing and I don't wan't to dig myself deeper by doing a payday loan. Does anyone know of anyplacethat loans money to someone in my situation that won't dig me deeper. Next I need to pay off the accumulated debt and work on fixing my credit score and truthfully I am in so deep i don't even know where to start and am looking for advice

Welcome to the board:

Frankly I dont think you are going to be able to get a loan from anyone in this situation, your best bet is going to be a local CU, if they wont help pretty much no one will.

newRe: Have good income and terrible credit

I need to get the security deposit together:

The good news is there is local agencies around you that will pay for your deposit to get into a place. They wont pay rent to keep you in a place, but will cover a security deposit to get you into a place. They will also help with security deposits etc for Electric.

Do a google search for "help with security deposit for low income" for your area.

I would help search but I dont know what city, state you are in .

Re: newRe: Have good income and terrible credit

Kf the problem is I went from not making anything to having good income I think most programs would turn me down as I now am making money.. I am in that transition period where I had to relocate for the job and just started it so I have not had time to put anything together for the down deposit ... I will try some Cradit Unions and see if any will take a risk on me..

After going through this I realize the impotance of your credit score as I am having difficulty finding a landlord who will rent to me and those that will want 3 months down so it's a catch 22

The next step as I start to put some money together moving forward what is the best way to deal with my creditors in paying them back while at the same time managing my credit score. This really seems like the place to ask as every where else seems to be a scam to seperate you from what lilttle you actually have and dig you deeper

Thanks
